History and founding story of Semba Tohka Industries.

Semba Tohka Industries Co., Ltd. is a company headquartered in Mohka City, Tochigi, Japan. Established in 1947 with the purpose of producing and selling caramel. In 1978, gradually developed other products such as powdered seasoning sauce, Miso powder, etc. Listed on JASDAQ in 2004.

Currently, Semba has developed many products to satisfy consumers such as caramel tablets for plan cakes, yams, premium teas such as Sencha, Hojicha, Matcha, Olongcha,… Since the war, with future vision Semba immediately develop this market, and this is the core value of Semba in the long-term development until today.

7/1947 Established Semba Tohka Industries in Tochigi, Japan.
12/1952 Established Tokyo Branch in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo.
4/1961 Established Osaka Business Office (now Osaka Branch) in Higashiyodogawa, Osaka.
3/1964 Started production and sales of spice powder, tea powder, etc.
10/1966 Moved Tokyo Branch to Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
7/1967 Mito factory was established in Mito city, Ibaraki prefecture.
9/1967 Moved Tokyo branch office to Sumida-ku, Tokyo.
11/1971 Established  Mohka No. 2 factory in Mohka, Tochigi Prefecture.
5/1972 Established the Spray Drying Technology Research Department at the head office and started the spray technology consulting business.
3/1974 Completed phase 2 of machinery construction at Mohka Factory No. 2 and started production and sales of frozen technology products.
5/1974 Senba Packaging Company was established with the main task of packaging the company’s products, in addition began to provide packaging to the market.
3/1976 Moved Tokyo branch office to Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
9/1977 Established a new granulation facility at the factory in the head office and began to manufacture and sell granulation products.
7/1978 Started manufacturing and selling mixed products such as “powder sauce” and “miso soup powder”.
9/1979 Established  Mohka Factory No. 3 in Tochigi Prefecture, and at the same time applied spray drying and Granulation equipment here.
3/1983 Senba Packaging Company No. 2 was established in Mohka, Tochigi Prefecture.
5/1985 The most advanced Drum Dryer in Japan was installed at Factory Mohka No. 2.
6/1987 Established a Blend factory at the head office.
9/1988 Closed the Mito factory and transferred the caramel production line to the Mohka No.3 factory.
5/1989 Expansion and new construction of Technical Research Department.
7/1990 Established Tohoku Senba Company in Hinai-machi, Kitaakita-gun, Akita Prefecture (now Hinai-machi, Odate City) for the purpose of producing frozen yams.
8/1993 Moved Tokyo branch office to Taito-ku, Tokyo.
11/1994 Registered shares with Japan Securities Dealers Association.
11/1998 Obtained the international standard “ISO9001” certification at  Mohka No. 2 Factory.
3/2000 Acquired international standard “ISO9001” certification at Mohka No. 3 Factory.
4/2002 Established Create International Co., Ltd. (now an associate subsidiary) in Taito-ku, Tokyo.
11/2003 Established Fuzhou Senba Food Company (currently an associate subsidiary) in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, China with the aim of consolidating and expanding the production capacity of powdered products and Frozen.
12/2004 Canceled registration of stock trading with Japan Securities Dealers Association and listed shares on Jasdaq Stock Exchange.
4/2006 Established a new kelp extract production plant at  Mohka Factory No. 2.
9/2006 Established a new tea powder factory at  Mohka Factory No. 2.
8/2007 Installing tuna extraction equipment at Moka Factory No. 2.
4/2010 Listed on Osaka Stock Exchange JASDAQ after merging JASDAQ and Osaka Stock Exchange.
11/2012 Tohoku Senba Company (now an associate subsidiary) established a new manufacturing plant for frozen sweet yams, Japanese frozen sweets and freeze-dried products in Niida, Odate city, prefecture Akita.
7/2013 Listed on Tokyo Stock Exchange JASDAQ (Standard) due to integration of Tokyo Stock Exchange and Osaka Stock Exchange.
10/2016 Established subsidiary SEMBA-NFC VIETNAM COMPANY LIMITED (now an associate subsidiary) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam as a business base for Semba products in Vietnam.
